This crock pot pulled pork is my favorite easy recipe for sweet pulled pork. In my opinion, the high setting is just too much for the pork.
Healthy and Easy Hawaiian Pulled Pork Crock Pot Recipes
Pepper soda (yes, trust me on this one!) in the basin of a slow cooker;
Pulled pork crock pot recipe on high. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or on high for 6 hours, until pork is falling apart. The shoulder includes the front leg and shoulder, and will likely come with a bone and plenty of marbling. Shred pork, using 2 forks.
If your pork is not fork tender and does not shred easily, it needs to cook longer. Add a small amount of fat like neutral olive oil, butter, or lard, and cook the leftover pulled pork for a few minutes until warmed through. Place pork in slow cooker.

While the pot is heating up, heavily salt and pepper the pork. Flip the roast over and sprinkle the other side with the second half of the dressing mixes. You may need to adjust the cooking time, depending on how hot your crock pot runs (and how big your pork is).
Make sure all areas of the pork have some marinade on them. Combine seasoning salt, garlic powder, italian seasoning, mustard, onion powder and black pepper and sprinkle half over pork loin. Rub the pork roast with seasoning and add to the slow cooker (per recipe below).
Shred with two forks, discarding excess fat. Shred the pulled pork with two forks and remove the excess liquids, if desired. If needed, you can cut the pork into pieces so that it will fit in the cooker.
Pour the vegetable oil into the bottom of a slow cooker. How to make pulled pork in the crock pot. Pour in the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth.
Close and lock lid in place. Return pork to slow cooker. The marbling is key because the fat is what will prevent the meat from drying out during the cooking process.
Pull the meat apart in shreds, using two forks. It has a wonderful flavor even without the bbq sauce! Thinly slice the onion and spread over the bottom of the crock pot.
Turn steam release valve to off. Return to sauce and keep warm. Rub the seasonings into the pork roast.
Pepper (or rootbeer) on top and let the crock pot work its magic. When the roast is almost done, add the remaining ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Rinse and then dry well with paper towels.
Toss with tongs to evenly coat the meat before stuffing into tacos or rolling burritos. Remove pork from slow cooker. Pork shoulder is the most common cut used when making pulled pork.
Cover and cook on low until fall apart tender — 8 to 10 hours. Pat the pork dry and then rub the seasoning blend all over the meat. Mix the salt, brown sugar, garlic salt, pepper, paprika and oregano and rub all over the pork.
Add the sliced onion to the bottom of the crockpot. What temperature to cook slow cooker pulled pork: We do not recommend the high setting for this recipe.

Rub paprika mixture on pork to cover completely. Cook 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high. Combine the pork loin, some chopped onion, a sprinkling of seasoning from salt, and pepper, and a cup of dr. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil + spices.
Mix and heat with sauce before serving. Stir in the brown sugar, yellow mustard, worcestershire sauce, chili powder, onion, garlic, and thyme. Turn and sprinkle on the remaining half.
Marinate pork in olive oil + spices overnight if possible in a ziploc bag, otherwise place tenderloins in crockpot and cover with oil/spice marinade. Cover and cook until very tender (the meat should fall apart easily with a fork!), on high for 5 to 6 hours or on low for 8 to 10 hours. Pour chicken stock on top of marinated tenderloins.
Simmer until slightly thickened and remove from heat. Total time 8 hours 5 minutes. Mix seasoning mix, ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar until blended.
Cook for several hours (time will vary depending on whether you cook on low or high — more on that in the recipe below). Add the water to the slow cooker, cover and cook until tender. How do you cook pulled pork in the crock pot.
Line the bottom of the crock pot with sliced onion. Remove pork from slow cooker and transfer to bowl. I always cook pulled pork on low in the crockpot.
Sprinkle any extra seasoning over the onions. Place pork in slow cooker.
